Steven Zierk, Heir Apparent

This afternoon I came across some wonderful news here. Apparenlty, Steven Zierk, an american and student of Michal Aigner, whose blog I read often and highly recommend, won the world junior under 18 championship. Perhaps most incredibly, he managed to accomplish this despite “giving up chess for 5 years between age of 8 and 13.” His current goal is to become a GM before finishing high school in June, and since he picked up a norm in this event, it would seem he is well positioned to pull it off.
