Blog Carnival: Part I

Blue Devil Knight’s first Chess Blog Carnival is up and running over at Chess Confessions. A blog carnival is a type of blog event. It is similar to a magazine, in that it is dedicated to a particular topic, and is published on a regular schedule, often weekly or monthly. Each edition of a blog carnival is in the form of a blog article that contains permalinks to other blog articles on the particular topic. There’s a lot of material in this months chess blog carnival, and I’m glad to see some of my submissions of other blogs were included as well. My hope was that the carnival would introduce me to other chess blogs that I would not have otherwise found, and it has. I have to admit I’m surprised by the large amount of high quality material pooled together from the blogosphere. There are a lot of people out there working hard to produce fantastic material, not for money but simply the love of chess and to share with other people. I haven’t got through all of the articles in this months blog carnival yet, but from the ones I’ve read so far I’m already very impressed.

Next month, Brooklyn64 will be hosting the carnival as it travels around the web. I will post details on how and where to submit for the February carnival soon. In the meantime, definitely feast your eyes on the sights and sounds of this months chess carnival over at Chess Confessions.
