There is no question that the FIDE Monday tournament at the Marshall Chess Club is one of the most popular weekly chess events in the Northeast. It regularly draws a large crowd of strong players who are in search of those elusive FIDE rating points. Last night, fellow staff member and enfant terrible of the New York Chess scene Alex King did battle with the esteemed Board Member, Zachary Cohn. At turns the game verges on becoming sharp and insane, though both players seemed to back away from the brink. I wont water down the analysis with my opinions, as Alex King’s thorough annotations in the diagram below are far more in depth.
