Roasting Jermaine

After winning an ongoing best 2-out-of-3 blitz match against fellow Marshall Chess Club staff member Jermaine, I had to reconstruct the battle for your viewing pleasure. At this point, it’s hard to say what my lifetime score is against him, I’m not sure if I’m up or down, but I definitely have the momentum at the moment! I had been wasting a bit of time at the club this afternoon, pretending to study endgames while fiddling with my phone when he challenged me to finish our match. A few weeks back, we began a best 2-out-of-3 blitz match, but for various reasons have had to play it one game at a time spread out of several weeks. Generally, one of us is usually on the clock at the Marshall, so sitting around and playing a few games of blitz back to back is often not possible.

In any case, this makes me the staff champion for the moment… until alex king decides to step up and challange me to a best 2-out-of-3 blitz match for the title (in which I get draw odds obvs)… at which point I may decline and elope to Iceland to live in paranoid seclusion for the rest of my days.
